Greetings from just a few of the creatures enjoying QG's abundant #milkweed blooms this year. The mama monarchs will hopefully be by for a visit next! 🦋 #communitygardening #nativeplants #pollinatorsofbrooklyn We have plants to share! In honor of Juneteenth, we are holding a second plant giveaway this year. Come out early 10:30-12:30 and pick up some new, free plant friends before hitting all the Flatbush Juneteenth events! @rogerstildencommunty @fabgcoalition Q Gardens is thrilled to host the first public concert in Noa Fort’s jazz improv series “You Hear Me Hear You”! We can’t wait to hear @fortisima 🙌 Thanks to QG bee team member, Amanda, for capturing these amazing shots!! Photo 2 shows the queen bee who laid the tiny eggs in photo 3. Bee eggs can be hard to spot in real life, so here they are for all to see 🐝🐝🐝 #qgardensbees #communitybeekeeping #beesofbrooklyn Thank you so much to QG grower @_jesssaldana_ for building this beautiful DIY #herbspiral at the garden! 🌱 It transformed a flat growing space (with room for about four herbs) into an ascending spiral of herbal bounty. It even helps give each herb what she needs (as herbs needing less water go on top) 🌞💦 #communitygardening #verticalgardening #medicinalherbs C L A Y P L A Y~ returns for Mental Health Awareness month May 21 at 12:30pm @q_gardens 🌱 Registration link in bio! Thanks to @_jesssaldana_ for creating this op. Clay has long been used as as a tool to express nonverbal feelings in therapeutic settings. In this outdoor workshop participants will engage the somatosensory effects of earth based clay by re-molding and undoing ephemeral sculptures with the provided materials. 📸:1) Black/gray/white Clayplay flyer listing details of event, 2)Photo of Mary playing with clay. #play #clay #arttherapy #brooklyn #newyork Compost Tea Workshop with QG member Wade this Thursday, May 19th, 6-7pm. Wade’s interest in compost started at Q Gardens. He is now running a gardening club at John Dewey High School where his students have been experimenting with using compost tea to supply their hydroponic systems. They brew this compost tea every week! John Dewey High School’s relationship with compost began after a field trip to Q-Gardens in 2019 ☺️@wademoodring Q Gardens is lucky to be in District 40 where @RitaJoseph is sponsoring Residential Curbside Organics Collection (Int 0244-2022)! We hope you'll join us! Let's get our hands dirty and show some love to our neighborhood street trees ❤️ RSVP via Linktree in bio! 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
