Tag a Street Tree for Care & Volunteer for the Care! Join us for a winter street tree care day, Sunday, February 12, 2-4pm. We’re collecting suggestions on street trees in the Q Gardens area that need a little extra love these days – see the link in our bio. And you can sign up there to volunteer on February 12 too ;). Let’s see how many of your suggestions we can get to! We need more hands: #ManyHandsMakeLightWork So glad to spend this January 1st tending to our compost piles with awesome volunteer Marlene @kinahyoh who made quick work of turning our active pile! We’ll be doing our Sunday 2-4 compost open hours all year in 2023 starting Jan 8th— all are welcome to volunteer Sundays and for our midweek activities. Sign up link in the bio. Happy New Year, everyone! #compostjoy #communitycomposting Like most of our area sister food scrap drop off operations, we're taking a break for the next two Sundays -- Christmas and New Year's day! So happy to be working for Flatbush trees through our healthy soils & daffodils project! Big thanks to the @churchavebid & @flatbushavebid for inviting Q gardens to lead on this project and for their generous donation to our community garden. Big thanks also to @samuelsfoodgardens and @greengardentruck — we were thrilled to partner with them on this project.🤝 Getting ready to make some healthy soil and plant daffodils for Flatbush trees on Sunday November 20, 11am - 3pm with @churchavebid, @flatbushavebid, @samuelsfoodgardens ! Trees & daffodil bulbs need protected, de-compacted soil! Join Q Gardens, @churchavebid, @flatbushavebid, @greengardentruck, and @samuelsfoodgardens next Sunday, November 20 from 11 to 3 to plant daffodils in the Church & Flatbush Aves area. First we’ll install tree guards and learn about how to revitalize that compacted tree pit soil. Then we plant 😅🌼 Thanks so much to members of the @brooklynqueenslandtrust community for visiting Q Gardens yesterday! We are so lucky to be part of this 37-strong network of gardens 🌱❤️ For those who don't know, the first Saturday of each month, BQLT holds a cross-garden meeting, which takes place at a different member garden each month - it's a beautiful community gathering and all are welcome! 🌞🙌 Join the Parkside Food & Culture Collective next Sunday September 18th for a day of community environmental activities and sharing! Our compost open hours are canceled this Labor Day Weekend!
