Thanks to everyone who came through on Sunday for our spring potluck! If you didn't make it and want to get involved, check out the "volunteering" tab at qgardens.org ! 🌻Lots of info on how to plug in! 🌱 #communitygardening #welcomespring Join us at the garden for a hands on workshop on starting plants from seed this Sunday @ 2pm! Everything you need to get started will be provided - all are welcome 🌱 Join us to celebrate the arrival of SPRING! And to meet new and returning Q Gardens volunteers, ask any questions you have, get excited to plug in this year... and share yummy food! 🌱🌻❤️ Please bring your own cup and utensils 🍴 Sunday, March 19th at 2-5pm at Q Gardens 🌻 (58 East 18th St, right behind Church Ave B/Q subway stop) All are welcome! 🔥Special shout-out to Q Gardener Stefanie for making this beautiful flyer!! 🔥 Great news, the Q Gardens bees are alive!! Since it was in the mid-50s today, we took a peek and QG bee alum, Sarah, brought her equipment to do an oxalic acid vapor treatment (on the hated, destructive #varroamites). The QG bee team circle continues to grow.. Sarah now has her own hives upstate and big congrats to bee team co-coordinator, Frank, who just got a scholarship from the @the_bee_conservancy to take a master beekeeping course! Onwards..! 🐝🔥 #qgardensbees #communitybeekeeping Tag a Street Tree for Care & Volunteer for the Care! Join us for a winter street tree care day, Sunday, February 12, 2-4pm. We’re collecting suggestions on street trees in the Q Gardens area that need a little extra love these days – see the link in our bio. And you can sign up there to volunteer on February 12 too ;). Let’s see how many of your suggestions we can get to! We need more hands: #ManyHandsMakeLightWork So glad to spend this January 1st tending to our compost piles with awesome volunteer Marlene @kinahyoh who made quick work of turning our active pile! We’ll be doing our Sunday 2-4 compost open hours all year in 2023 starting Jan 8th— all are welcome to volunteer Sundays and for our midweek activities. Sign up link in the bio. Happy New Year, everyone! #compostjoy #communitycomposting Like most of our area sister food scrap drop off operations, we're taking a break for the next two Sundays -- Christmas and New Year's day! So happy to be working for Flatbush trees through our healthy soils & daffodils project! Big thanks to the @churchavebid & @flatbushavebid for inviting Q gardens to lead on this project and for their generous donation to our community garden. Big thanks also to @samuelsfoodgardens and @greengardentruck — we were thrilled to partner with them on this project.🤝 Getting ready to make some healthy soil and plant daffodils for Flatbush trees on Sunday November 20, 11am - 3pm with @churchavebid, @flatbushavebid, @samuelsfoodgardens !
