As beginning beekeepers, we are always looking for patterns. Why did this hive swarm? Why did that hive develop a serious mite problem? In an effort to compare the trajectory of each of our hives, we created a visual one-pager that does just that:
Keep in mind that our hives did not survive the 2017/18 winter, so we started with brand new bees in the spring of 2018.
We have since experienced what a different story it can be when your bees actually survive the winter (swarms and honey galore!)…. Stay tuned for a subsequent post describing the trajectory of our hives in 2019 🙂
